El TRAUCO
Valeria Germain

Perhaps the most famous of all the myths of the Chiloé island, is the story of the Trauco. He lives in the middle of the forest, his size does not exceed 90 cm. Despite being a dwarf he is very strong, he carries an axe made of stone used to knock down trees with only three hits no matter the size or hardness of these.

The origin of this strange creature is unclear... some people say that The Trauco was a handsome angel that came to the Earth a long time ago for seducing a beautiful woman. Then God discovered what he did and punished him by deforming his body.
Other people say that the Trauco is the bastard son of the mythical snake "CAICAI". He was born as incarnation of the anger that the snake Caicai feels for human beings.

For men el Trauco is a real danger. His behavior with women is completely different because he loves women. Despite his' size and appearance for women arouses a great attraction that makes them deliver what he wants.
